France TV is constantly seeking innovative ways to showcase the content available on their platform. With their 8k 360° video capture technology and the launch of the Apple Vision Pro headset just before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a new opportunity arose to enhance the sport watching experience and to highlight France TV’s expertise on this new platform.
The experience was available on the day of the headset’s release in France on the Apple Store (July 12, 2024) featuring pre-Olympic 360° content.

The experience allows users to watch 360° sports content using the Apple Vision Pro headset. The app provided several standout features:
Choose Your Content
Users can select from a range of available videos within the experience to watch. They can choose to watch an highlighted content or to browse in the experience to find the content they want.
Watch It in 360°
A unique 360° 3D video player developed by Immersiv.io enables users to fully immerse themselves in the sports content and navigate the experience at their own pace.
MV-HEVC Encoding
This experience is using the brand new MV-HEVC video encoding format, introduced by Apple a few months ago. Our technical team used this format to make the videos compatible with Apple Vision Pro.
